The health of your eyes is of great importance. Early detection with a dilated pupil eye exam and treatment when necessary can prevent permanent vision damage.
Many health conditions of the body can effect the health of your eyes. Our doctors are highly trained in detecting cataract, glaucoma, diabetes changes, and macular degeneration. There are many conditions which can affect the eyes, these are the more common:
Cataracts: A cataract is a clouding of the lens. It is one of the most common changes to the inside of the eye as we age. Dr. Karbassi is our cataract surgeon. During your exam, he can determine if your cataracts are ready for surgery. He provides the most up-to-date surgical technologies as well as lens choices to improve your vision.
Glaucoma: A condition when left untreated can permanently destroy vision. At Front Range Eye Physicians we have updated our glaucoma testing. We offer visual fields, imaging and retinal photography. Dr. Johnson is our glaucoma expert. Through examining your eyes and other tests, he can determine if you are at risk or have glaucoma.
Diabetes and macular degeneration can also be evaluated during a dilated pupil eye exam. These health conditions can effect the blood vessels of the back of the eye and the central vision structures. Sometimes, changes to your eyes may require a referral to a retinal specialist. Front Range Eye Physicians work closely with local retinal specialist to take the best care of your eyes.
Don't delay your medical eye exam. Many eye health conditions have no symptoms and therefore need to be evaluated.
